Social studies is an interdisciplinary field that examines the interaction between people and their environment. Additionally, these concepts also encompass how people think about themselves and how they make decisions in different contexts. By understanding how individuals think and act within a society or culture we can gain insight into its structures as well as its dynamics. Furthermore, social studies helps us to understand the relationship between government policy and public opinion.
